Limited numbers are available at the nursery because of its shade and moisture requirements.

The Bunchberry has fairly large leaves in relation to the size of the whole plant, coming off the main stem in whorls.

Landscape Use

Use in moist, shady sites to create a woodland garden, it needs shade to thrive.


Thinly spreading groundcover about 1m wide.


Leaves turn from green to a dark purplish red in the fall.

Water Needs



Clear bright white flowers with four distinct delicate petals that bloom in the summer.
Orange-red fruit appears in clusters at the top of the main stem in fall.
